Herbalife Branding Increased Presence in Media

I read a short blog entry about the recent exposure of Herbalife in mass media due primarily to the popularity of David Beckmann, football (soccer) player, who wears his Herbalife-branded LA Galaxy team shirt. A friend of mine even noticed that the Herbalife shirt worn by David Beckmann on Jamaican TV.

Today's word of the day "cupidity" leads to reflection on my part related to Herbalife. At first, I thought that Herbalife distributors just wanted to be filthy rich. However, with experience, I see that becoming an Independent International Herbalife distributor has helped alot of others improve their own economic condition, which has lead to provision for the family. Since Herbalife is improving the wellness and wealth of many individuals without resorting to unethical practices, I am increasingly enthusiastic about the company.

HLF 2nd Quarter Profits up; Global Net Sales increase 13.8%

This post includes two (2) online news reports and selected part of a blog with information from the Second Quarter 2007 financial report from Herbalife International. Interestingly, analysts continue to expect growth to continue. In my opinion, this is an opportune time to be involved with Herbalife whether as a distributor or as an investor.

We can celebrate Jamaica's productivity in Herbalife. Jamaica's superb growth rate of 80% is based on a comparison of annual product sales in 2005 and 2006. Herbalife reported a 13.8 percent increase in its second quarter revenue, along with increase net income, due to continued growth in the U.S. and Mexico, the company said Monday.

Herbalife reported sales of $530.1 million, up from $466 million in the year-ago period. Net income was $48.1 million, or 65 cents a share, up from $36.3 million, or 49 cents a share, in the year-ago period.

For the first six months of the fiscal year, the company reported net income of $89.3 million, or $1.20 per share, up from $75 million, or $1.01 a share in the year-ago period. Revenue was $1 billion, up from $921.8 million in the year-ago period.

Los Angeles-based Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) is a global network marketing company that sells weight-management, nutrition, and personal care products.

Wealth in Wellness

Believe it. There is at least one incredible business opportunity for those who are motivated to do what it takes to realize their vision of a successful life. Let Herbalife be the vehicle for change in your personal world.

In life, you are the agent of change. How so? "For things are to change, you have to change your thinking" (Jim Rohn). Remember the famous proverb: "As a man thinks, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). James Allen wrote a self-help book published in 1902 titled "As a Man Thinketh" which opens with the statement:

As such, I want to ask you to imagine that the following theorem about exponential wealth creation in the wellness industry is true: "Anyone can do Herbalife business successfully. It's eventually easy but never simplistic nor superficial. So let's do it - as a team."

The Herbalife Business Solution is not a simplistic formula applied to anyone, any (old) way. For example, you choose whether you want to work part-time or full-time. Moreover, you need to find the tools - to promote the business - that work best for you. You can be successful, helping people get what they want, by simply sharing stories (of wonderful product results). Herbalife products can be categorized into three (3) areas: weight management, targeted nutritional supplements, and personal care items.

Distributing Herbalife products can be worthwhile; take a look at the annual earnings of US Supervisors in 2006 by downloading a PDF file: http://www.herbalife.com/US/en/pdf/catalog/gross_compensation_06.pdf On this information sheet, you'll notice that the average annual earnings of Active Supervisors was about US $5100. Moreover, the average earnings of Global Expansion Team members was over US $24,400 last year. Note that these amounts do not include the profits earned on resale of products. Of course, there is a caveat to this business opportunity story: Income vary. There are no absolute guarantees.

Some of the business success stories within Jamaica are tremendous! For example, there are persons who were earning low wages who progressed in only several weeks in Herbalife to living a little comfortably because earnings multiplied! There are professionals such an attorney-at-law and an university professor who quit their positions when their part-time Herbalife business paid them better than their full-time jobs! Of course, there are people like myself who increase their income via their part-time work-at-home Herbalife business....

I am really intrigued by the basic business philosophy described succinctly by motivational speaker Jim Rohn: "Profits are better than wages. Wages make you a living (which is fine); profits make you a fortune (which is super fine)." [I would highly recommend his audio CD "Building Your Network Marketing Business" as well as reading quotations on jimrohn.com or his free weekly Ezine.] My current goal is to make twice as much money part-time than full-time. This will make an appealing story that will be an effective recruiting tool. Of course, I will also have more options for giving, investing, saving, and spending.

Mr. Rohn recommends that you drastically change by correcting the errors of the past and developing new disciplines. "It's not the blowing of the wind that determines your income, but the set of the sail (of your thinking)." It's not what happens to you that's critical, because every era includes opportunity mixed with difficulty. "For things to change, you have to change. Don't wish it were easier; wish you were better. Don't wish for less problems; wish for more skills. Don't wish for less challenge; wish for more wisdom. You can do the most remarkable things, no matter what happens."

Earlier I asked you to imagine that the theorem that I presented was true. Well, this theory is coupled with its application; it's practical. Herbalife actually works for you, if you work! Now if you will, apply the concept to yourself in the mind's eye; you can be a helpful wellness or weight loss coach, if you want to be... Now that you have entertained your individual success in your mind; believe it! "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right" (Henry Ford).

Wealth Creation is as easy as breathing; once your lungs are working well, breathing seems like the easiest task in the world. The problem with many of us metaphorically is that our breathing is labored when we attempt to climb the financial ladder of success because either we are not in good health or have not maintained cardio-pulmonary health through regular exercise. Herbalife products help optimize wellness while Herbalife systems help develop good fiscal habits that sustain a growing business.

In Network Marketing, the response rate to an invitation or presentation is about 10 - 30% ("Law of Averages"). Jim Rohn notes that the Parable of sowing and reaping illustrates the law of averages. The ambitious sower had excellent seed. However, not all seed fall on good ground. Of course, it makes no sense to chase after the birds that swallow the seed. [:-)] Moreover, he explains that the experienced sower will have higher yield. But then declares: "When I'm new, I make up in numbers what I lack in skill." The newbie should extend a lot of effort to get similar results to others. "You should discipline your disappointment." Take heed; be courageous: "If you share a good idea long enough, it will fall on good ears" (Jim Rohn).

Don't be deceived by a doubting Thomas within your inner circle. Instead seek to inspire. Consider these facts: Herbalife Jamaica is currently growing at 80% per year. Moreover, Jamaica has the highest retention rate within the sixty-five countries in Herbalife. When you design your business life for wealth creation, your 'downline' organization grows and grows. And the best part is that you don't need to understand the complexities. In fact, it's usually better to not waste time trying to reinvent new systems; Herbalife has proven methods of operation that really work. For example, Herbalife Jamaica has experienced significant growth because of nutrition clubs. This is an opportunity worth pursuing.

Just follow Herbalife's slogan "Dream It. Do It." You will just need to practice key disciplines again and again until success is achieved. When you keep practicing - with persistence - it will eventually seem effortless. Want to get to the top 5% of Herbalife distributors in less than 5 years? Why not aim higher? It's certainly possible. Let's do it.

Join TEAM Jamaica: Together Each Achieves More. So invite guests to visit nutrition clubs as well as Opportunity meetings regularly. Shared testimonials within formal and informal group encounters are important. Your guest(s) may be inspired by the testimony of others who have experienced the results that they are seeking.

Finally, it is good to use ingenuity in your business. "The man who will use his skill and constructive imagination to see how much he can give for a dollar, instead of how little he can give for a dollar, is bound to succeed" (Henry Ford). You can buy and sell or if you have sufficient initiative, you can sell and buy. Don't forget that the best distributor will serve customers well. You can do it. Believe it. Study. Practice. Teach.

Herbalife Record Third-Quarter Income of $48.3 Million

Herbalife Ltd. Announces Third-Quarter Net Sales of $529.5 Million and Record Net Income of $48.3 Million

LOS ANGELES, Nov 06, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF) today reported third quarter net sales of $529.5 million, an increase of 11.1 percent compared to the same period of 2006. This record performance was largely attributable to double-digit growth in several of the company's top countries, including the U.S. up 20.4 percent, Taiwan up 23.6 percent and China up 89.3 percent, versus the third quarter of 2006. The company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael O. Johnson, said, "We are pleased to report our 15th consecutive quarter of double-digit growth and another record quarter for net income. Our strong performance reflects the strength of our independent distributor organization, their confidence in the company, and the foundation we've built with our products, business opportunity, brand and image."

During the third quarter 2007, total supervisors increased 16.6 percent to 418,735 and new supervisors of 52,982 increased 4.7 percent versus the third quarter of 2006. The company's President's Team membership increased 11.3 percent to 1,066 members.

Financial Performance
For the quarter ended September 30, 2007, the company reported net income of $48.3 million, or $0.67 per diluted share, compared to $26.5 million, or $0.36 per diluted share in the third quarter of 2006. Excluding the impact of refinancing charges and other items(1) in third quarter of 2006, adjusted diluted net income per share was $0.51, resulting in a $0.16 improvement in third quarter 2007. The increase in net income was primarily attributable to double-digit net sales growth, expansion in operating profit margins, and a reduction in interest expense during the period(1).
During the third quarter, the company invested $9.2 million in capital expenditures, primarily related to enhancements to its management information systems and additional infrastructure investments to improve distributor service levels.
On August 23, 2007, the company's Board of Directors approved an increase of $150 million to its previously authorized share repurchase program of $300 million raising the total value of company common shares authorized to be repurchased to $450 million. During the third quarter, the company repurchased 1.7 million shares of its common stock through open market transactions at an average price of $39.23 for an aggregate cost of $65.1 million. The company used excess cash along with debt to fund the repurchase. Since this share repurchase program was authorized in April 2007, the company has repurchased 5.2 million shares at an aggregate cost of $203.9 million.
For year to date September 30, 2007, the company reported net sales of $1,567.7 million an increase of 12.1 percent compared to $1,398.2 million in the comparable period in 2006. For the year to date September 30, 2007, the company reported net income of $137.6 million, or $1.87 per diluted share, compared to $101.5 million, or $1.37 per diluted share in the comparable period for 2006. Excluding the impact of favorable tax settlements in international markets in 2006 and 2007, recapitalization expenses and tax benefits on refinancing transactions in 2006, as well as 2007 expenses related to the company's realignment for growth initiative(1), year to date September 30, 2007 net income increased 29.4 percent to $141.6 million, or $1.92 per diluted share, compared to $1.47 per diluted share in the comparable period in 2006.

Third Quarter 2007 Business Highlights
The company experienced record-breaking attendance at its distributor extravaganza events around the world. Over 10,000 distributors attended the North America regional event in Dallas, Texas. Over 17,000 distributors attended the EMEA regional event in Cologne, Germany. Over 15,000 distributors attended the South East Asia and North Asia regions combined Asia Pacific Extravaganza in Singapore. Over 17,000 distributors attended our Mexico and Central America regional event in Mexico City. These events are important to allow distributors a venue to train and network, and for the company to introduce new products and recognize distributor success.
The company continued its support of distributor business methods by sharing best practices globally. "We continue to encourage sharing of distributor best practices as we focus our company resources on supporting the distributors' daily methods of operations," said Greg Probert, the company's president and chief operating officer.
Regional Performance
Europe, Middle East and Africa region, the company's largest region, reported net sales of $133.8 million in the third quarter, an increase of 5.0 percent versus the same period of 2006. However, excluding the benefit of currency fluctuations, net sales decreased 2.4 percent. The EMEA region realized net sales growth in several of its top markets, including Spain which was up 35.4 percent; France up 27.2 percent; Russia up 17.7 percent; and Italy up 15.8 percent, in each case compared to the third quarter of 2006. These net sales gains were partially offset by declines in other core markets including Germany down 13.3 percent, and the Netherlands down 18.9 percent versus the comparable period of 2006. Total supervisors in the region, as of September 30, 2007, decreased 6.0 percent versus the same period in 2006. Formula 1 single-serve sachets were introduced at the EMEA July extravaganza to support distributor sampling efforts.
The North America region reported net sales of $110.8 million in the third quarter, up 20.3 percent versus the same period of 2006, driven by U.S. sales up 20.4 percent versus third quarter 2006. Excluding currency fluctuations, net sales increased 19.9 percent. Total supervisors in the region, as of September 30, 2007, increased 18.8 percent versus the same period in 2006.
The Mexico and Central America region reported net sales of $92.9 million in the third quarter, down 9.8 percent versus the same period of 2006, led by Mexico, which was down 12.8 percent. Excluding currency fluctuations, net sales for the region decreased 9.8 percent. Total supervisors in the region, as of September 30, 2007, increased 26.6 percent as compared to the same period in 2006.
The South America/Southeast Asia region reported net sales of $76.2 million in the third quarter, up 47.7 percent versus the same period of 2006. Excluding currency fluctuations, net sales increased 41.6 percent. The growth in the region was primarily attributable to double and triple digit growth in the region's top markets - Venezuela up 379.4 percent; Singapore up 45.7 percent; Bolivia up 44.1 percent; Colombia up 42.7 percent; and Argentina up 21.3 percent, coupled with growth in Peru, which opened in December 2006. Total supervisors in the region, as of September 30, 2007, increased 43.4 percent versus the same period in 2006.
The Greater China region reported net sales of $51.7 million in the third quarter, up 42.8 percent versus the same period of 2006. Excluding currency fluctuations, net sales increased 40.3 percent. The increase is attributable to sales growth in China, up 89.3 percent, and Taiwan, up 23.6 percent, as sales in Hong Kong were essentially flat. Total supervisors in the region, as of September 30, 2007, increased 50.7 percent versus the same period in 2006. Herbalife currently operates 90 stores/service centers in 28 provinces in China.
The North Asia region reported net sales of $34.5 million in the third quarter, up 3.6 percent versus the same period of 2006. Excluding currency fluctuations, net sales increased 3.2 percent. The increase came from both South Korea and Japan, up 6.6 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively. Total supervisors in the region, as of September 30, 2007, increased 1.3 percent versus the same period in 2006.
The Brazil region reported net sales of $29.6 million in the third quarter, a decline of 9.8 percent versus the same period of 2006. Excluding currency fluctuations, net sales decreased 20.3 percent. Total supervisors, as of September 30, 2007, decreased 4.8 percent versus the same period in 2006.
Fourth Quarter 2007 and Full Year 2008 Guidance
Fourth Quarter 2007
Based on its current business trends, the company is raising its full year 2007 diluted earnings per share guidance to be in a range of $2.62 to $2.64. The company is providing guidance for the fourth quarter of 2007 in the range of $0.72 to $0.74 for diluted earnings per share. Additionally, fourth quarter investment in capital expenditures are expected in the range of $16 million - $18 million.
Full Year 2008
Based upon current business trends coupled with the anticipated impact from investment initiatives, the company anticipates revenue growth to be in the range of 7 percent to 10 percent and earnings per share guidance to be in a range of $3.17 to $3.23. Additionally, the company anticipates that its capital spending will be in the range of $85 million - $95 million as the company implements Oracle ERP worldwide during 2008.
